African Nomad is a story of passion, adventure, and a deep-rooted love for technology. I’m the creator of this brand, as well as anywhere.co.za, which was originally born out of my love for exploring new places and sharing those experiences. The idea behind anywhere.co.za was simple: to create a platform where anyone could share their latest adventure. However, like many dreams, life got busy, and this project had to take a backseat — yes, I’ll admit, there was a bit of procrastination, but it remained something I always knew I’d return to.

Over the past 24 years, I’ve been immersed in developing custom software solutions and websites for my clients. One of the most defining experiences was working at Bushlands Game Lodge in Hluhluwe, where I implemented their digital infrastructure and booking system back in the early days of PC networks. I’ll never forget the moment I was installing network cabling and turned to find a bush snake just 20 centimeters from my head! It was experiences like this that helped build my connection with the travel industry and the properties I worked with.

Later, I developed an app for the 3 Cities group of hotels, which included some truly beautiful destinations. I personally travelled to their properties to experience and capture content, but the app was unfortunately unbundled when 3 Cities was purchased by the AHA Group.

Now, after decades of working on custom solutions and experiencing countless destinations firsthand, I’ve reignited my passion for helping small to medium-sized property owners. These owners share a common goal: to fill their beds or campsites while managing their bookings effectively to save money. With that in mind, I have created African Nomad, and put together a suite of digital tools to help property owners manage and market their properties with ease.

Today, I’m combining my love for technology and my passion for travel and beautiful destinations to help property owners attract more guests and streamline their daily operations. African Nomad is more than a business—it’s a journey that merges adventure with technology, driven by a passion to help property owners create memorable experiences for their customers.
